Daylight saving time – Losing an hour of sleep
Mar 24th
Hey everyone – as a heads-up;
This coming Sunday 28th of March at 2.00 AM (in the morning for you non AM/PM-ers ;-) ) the clock will go forward 1 hour.
Be sure to check your clocks, computers, laptops, phones, digital camera’s and all other equipment if it set the new time correctly.

HTC HD2 Day 1 conclusions
Mar 17th
Well, today concludes the first day with the HTC HD2.
Overall, I am a happy consumer. However, just like with everything I have some pet peeves with it:
- Installing Google Mobile made the device incredibly slow. Uninstalling and then rebooting the phone did not fix it. So I had to resort to the hard reset option (source: HTC HD2 Leo Hard reset – Soft reset.) Not so happy with that. I am happy with how fast I could get my stuff back (Microsoft My Phone and the Google Active Sync took care of that)
- The screen is like a magnet for finger-smearing… ;-)
- Although not specifically the phone that caused it; I had to setup a completely empty Windows Mobile Device Center profile (with nothing ticked) so WMDC on my PC wouldn’t keep bouncing up and down like a Jack Russel on crack every time I connected the phone.
- I also noticed when manually setting up the Active-sync profile SMS syncing was showing. So far I haven’t found anything on this matter from Google, so I am not using it (anyone?)
- It doesn’t use the storage-card for message/attachment storing by default.
- I’ll admit that it’s not as big of an annoyance as I first thought it would be – but it’s in Dutch, which I am of course. But still!
“Drop Down”, Quake-style command prompt for Windows – Instructables – DIY, How To, tech
Jul 18th
I just had to sharea this one very cool thing:
“Drop Down”, Quake-style command prompt for Windows – Instructables – DIY, How To, tech.
It’s a Quake-style console for use in Windows. Now you might think why would you want that? Well it autohides as soon as you click anywhere or ALT+TAB to another program, but keeps running in the background. It also gives you the console the moment you press WIN+~ (tilde)
I personally grabbed the file from: http://www.mediafire.com/?0e3kxld19qd
Works great, and I highly recommend it to people who, such as myself, frequently use the DOS-prompt… err I mean the Quake-console ;)
5 Pet peeves in regards to mails that need to go
Jul 8th
I just had to post and share this one:
- The liberal use of the “VERY HIGH PRIORITY!!!” flag
- The 18-line sig about all the Bad Things that will happen to me if I ever reveal the contents of your privileged, confidential (and unencrypted) message
- The unrequested press release (and the serial ignoring of the “Unsubscribe” I sent you for the previous seven press releases)
- The graphical background, font and table tags, and remaining 14k of HTML cruft associated with every. single. message. you’ve ever sent
- The including of my — plus 98 other strangers’ — personal email addresses in the “To:” line of your friendly reminder about Tyler’s birthday party
