Hmm… Those 2 can mix and mingle from the looks of things, but I am not too keen on the concept of a few things that are required. On the other hand, it is a great feat when and if it works. But on the other hand, since SBS 2003 is already packed with Exchange 2003 which – when updated – supports and works great with WM5 based phones and features a similar functionality that the Blackbery’ does.
As an added bonus; the Exchange and WM5 solution doesn’t add extra cost (TCO / ROI) plus all of the material is available from one vendor (Microsoft…) par the hardware. The Blackberry solution requires you to either purchase the Blackberry Enterprise Server, or to use the Express version. The software also requires a CAL (express comes with 1 standard Client Access License). The BES software comes in at a price of around 1100 to 1600 USD. Which I think is a pretty hefty price for those of us/them that are running SBS 2003 (which are usually – SMALL Businesses)
Mind you, this is my personal view and opinion. It might turn around as I play with it a lot more, and after I have tested it in a virtual environment. But right now, I am not too keen on it. Not one bit…

E-mail is back up and running at work. I wish I could say the same for my internet-connection at home. It’s since Sunday that I haven’t had a single moment of internet connection anymore. Kind of suspicious that the connection dropped out on Sunday-evening. Hmm…
In other news, I started cleaning up the place – starting with the bathroom and one of the toilets. And yes it does make a big difference… Let’s hope it catches on with the others and that they pick it up as well. We will see how it goes.

Ever since yesterday the mailserver at work has been down, and as such we are now unable to receive mail. In addition to that, I don’t have access to my tasks, reminders, appointments, and a lot of information. It’s at times like these that we realize how dependant we are on certain technology.
In the mean time my colleagues are hard at work at fixing the issues and bringing the mailserver back online as soon as possible. I however am working on a SBS-server and finalizing that setup. I must admit that it’s running smoothly :)
Later tonight I might be able to squeeze some time in for my Windows Home Server rig. Long overdue as well.

Friday I had a good time with a friend as we watched a couple of DVD’s. Saturday I met up with another friend in Rotterdam and went for a few drinks, a snack and the movie Hot Fuzz (which I highly recommend BTW) It ended up being 1 AM in the morning when I got home.
Sunday I wasn’t feel that super, but was cheered up with some DVD’s and a nice visit :) Monday I had a walk out on the grasslands (or as we Dutchies call it; de hei)
After that I had a good night’s sleep. I somehow managed to squeeze in a batch of the laundry, and requested an appointment to be made for some trash to be collected at my place. As soon as that’s done the place should straighten out a bit more. Asides that I don’t have a lot to tell.
Take care all!
