Moving up and out, about…

I can announce with ‘some’ joy that I will be moving in the near future to a new room in Almere… It’s going to be a bigger room then the one I am currently living in, and well – it’s just a lot better. I hope/think that there I will get some rest and that sensation of coming home which I am missing here.

In other news; my knee is starting to work as it should again after I had a little mishap last week (ED: I bumped my knee at a TV that was parked on the floor in the dark…) I must admit that I had been limping around like Herr Flick from the TV sitcom Allo Allo. Which I think was strengthened by the fact I was wearing black clothing ;)

Asides that, I also have made a few personal decisions to get things back on track for myself – since I was way to preoccupied with others rather then myself. Nothing major on the outside, big changes on the inside.

I can also admit that I have yet to make it through a single day without changing the bracelet :) But I do think that it’s starting to work – as I think about my comments / thoughts faster in another way. It might just work…

At work things are going OK, keeping busy as always… Servers keeping me busy :)

So all in all, I can say that things are looking up – be it minor in one are or another. I am however very thrilled about my new place. I really look forward to moving into it…

Progressive strides

Things are looking up.

It has been a time since I last said that. And boy, it sure does feel good to be able to say it again. Yesterday after work I came home to find one of my housemates cleaning and tidying up the back’place’ (I still refrain from calling it a backyard / garden…) I offered a helping hand and well, it really made a difference when we finished. The ground is nearly even (instead of the previous potholes) and the garbage-bins are now where they are supposed to be. We also picked up some of the trash and put that in the bins. So it’s really cleaned up now.

Asides that I also cleaned the bathroomfloor again (it’s my duty this week to clean the bathroom) and the sink. I plan to do some more cleaning this weekend on the bathroom, and hopefully clean it up real nicely. I also noticed the toilet downstairs had been cleaned as well. So the cleaning schedule is starting to work :) Well, I had to make another change on it, as another one of the housemates has decided to chip in and help out. So today I drafted out a new one and distributed it to everyone, and posted 2 copies on the walls on the ground and 1st floor. I have also posted a copy of the garbage-collection-calendar next to it. I also ironed the last bit of my laundry and did some general cleaning in my room. Today I did some grocery-shopping, vacuumed and dusted my room and did another batch of my laundry.

So all in all you can say I’ve been keeping busy ;)

Additionally, I plan to arrange another garbage-collection to be arranged in another 2 weeks to pickup any leftover material that might pop up over the next 2 weeks. After that, we should be set.

In work-related news; I have been given the go-ahead to implement BES Express on the SBS-server for one of our customers. Even though I still have my reservations, I am confident that I can solve any issues if they should arise and that this complete solution will turn out to be pretty sweet :)

We already have an order for a similar solution (excluding the Blackberry material however) for another customer, so it seems it’s catching on :D

I also recently hooked my 2nd monitor back on my notebook at work. It really increases your productivity to have 2 monitors. I know that some of you might think that using a bigger monitor would be equally beneficial, but based on several years of experience using dual-monitor setups I can vouch for the dual-monitor solution. It just works so much better!

As soon as I have arranged everything surrounding my drivers-license (the theory part at least) I hope to pick up my study on a few items. I am still doubting if I should go for MCDST (which is going to cost money…) or to continue the CCNA (which is already paid for but will take considerably longer then the MCDST-certification) Maybe I should just take the exam for MCDST (both of them) and get it over with. I should be able to pass it with ease. Especially since I have done several preparation-tests and read the book covering it from front to end, and passed all the Sybex Testengine’s test could throw at me ;)

Much to ponder at this time. So little time. Well, I am off. Take care all!

Woeps!

I completely forgot to update my site. Well not really, I wasn’t near a computer long enough to write up a post.

Friday’s I started off with a visit to the barber, then the photocopyshop – to get some photo’s, did some shopping and some cleaning up. Before I realized it, it was already nearly 4PM. So I took off and found myself a nice seat in the sun with a nice cold beer. Cheers!

Saturdays I unfortunately just missed the train so I didn’t get to the ANWB-bus on time. Which, naturally, took off without me. I wound up spending the day helping a good friend of mine move to her new place (enjoy it Kowalaa! :))

Sunday I had a nice relaxing day, and Mondays I had a little diner in Best with some ex-colleagues where we had a lot of fun (and good food!)

I also noticed that when I got home (around 11ish at night) that all the trash was already taken out…! Hmm – great! They should pick the most of it up today – so with any luck we are actually going to see a big difference in our house. This week is also the first week of the cleaning schedule – so good things all-round!

Well, I better get back to work. Take care!

Progress report…

Well, as I stated earlier this week I have started on trying to refrain from complaining and nagging completely. So far I have not lasted a day :( However I am noticing a difference, albeit small. On the bright side, I have not yet swapped my bracelets today!

In addition to that, I have taken the day off tomorrow. Hmm, a day off and it’s going to be really nice weather. I’ll go get my hair cut and some photo’s taken (as I need them for Saturday for my theory study at Utrecht – given by the ANWB)

Other then that I am doing OK. Take care all!
