Eck. I hate going to the dentist, but I must admit that the current one I have is pretty relaxing and informative. Apart from that I guess I had an uneventfull day.
Just a decisive moment… but that’s a bit private
Today I also started work on a new server for a customer of ours. It’s a small business which will utilize dedicated hosted mail and office evironment services, as offered by Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 R2. Great stuff and really eases through the installation. However, I did notice a few quirks;
- The installation didn’t take to kindly when I changed the drive-letter of the DVD/CDROM drive.
- R2 technologies CD had to be manually installed (as in, I received no warning to insert th 6th CD)
- Manage your server interface could be a lot easier and clearier
Apart from those gripes it’s a great feat. We chose the DELL PowerEdge 840, combined with an Adaptec 1220 as the hardware solution (RAID 1 solution; with sufficient room to expand towards more hard-disks and more advanced RAID-controllers) Server itself is pretty complete setup and looks great. I think we might have a winner
I also would like to express my love and appreciation of companies that allow you to use their online services, thus saving me (and them!) valuable time and money. And yes this is related to my dentist appointment
Oh well, I better get to my study (driver’s license thingy and such :))
Catch you all laters!
